About the Event

Arrive at our glorious expansive 40-acre Retreat Center property on Friday evening, take a tour of our Labyrinth, see the build sight and meet & greet over a hearty dinner on the famous ‘Deck-With-a-Jaw-Dropping-View’!

Start the fun and informative build on Saturday, creating an outdoor Spiral Solar Shower foundation, working our way over the next 4 days towards a hand-built community creation that will allow our guests and volunteers to have memorable, luxurious showers!

While you play in the mud, you will learn this easy and fun process of creating artistic structures using an ancient technique that is enjoying a resurgence in popularity as people seek a more ecological and sustainable way to build.. ‘Cob’ is a mixture of Clay/Mud, Sand & Straw rolled together to make a structure that can last for over 100 years.

A little bit about us: Six Eagles Haven is a unique holistic Retreat Center on the Western Slope of Colorado.  Our mission is to provide vital programs, education & support services to promote health, well-being and sustainable living for everyone.

We have 40-acres with beautiful juniper & pine forests. We have spectacular views at 6,000 feet and the Colorado River valley runs below us.

Palisade is the closest large town (25 minutes away) which is known for its exquisite eateries, wineries, mountain biking, hiking and rafting. Grand Junction is only 45 minutes down scenic Hwy 65 where you will see mountain goats, deer and lovely horse ranches dotting this rural and rugged area.

Grand Junction has restaurants, movie theaters, concerts and the incredible Colorado National Monument – some of the most breathtaking canyons to rival the Grand Canyon (without the crowds!!).  We are 8 miles from the local ski area Powderhorn, where you can take the chair lift up to the top in the summer and bike down. After the Build Project, take time to drive 20 minutes up the road towards the largest flat-topped mesa in the world. The Grand Mesa, at 11,000 ft. has 300 lakes. Many of them are perfect for a quick swim after several days of cobbing!!!

We will have bonfires in one of our many firepits and if you aren’t too tired after cobbing all day, we have miles of beautiful and private hiking trails for you to explore. And a hot tub to soothe any aches you acquire. We have tent sites, hot showers, 3 meals a day during the week (cooked with love by our chef and executive director – a southern woman who shows her love of people by feeding them hearty, healthy home cooked meals ;).

Our average temperature is about 10 degrees cooler than in the valley, usually around 80-90 degree max. Because of the high Grand Mesa next to us, we get the cool breeze coming off the Aspen Forest just above us. Making our little slice of heaven cool, comfortable and mostly bug free!!
